Monster Island, a mockbuster from The Asylum that came out in 2019 around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster lives. The monster is, in a way, the island, or Monster Island, itself.


Because this movie is about an asylum, it has the same budget as a big (read...) kid’s meal but uses it sparingly. It has a small number of characters that are human and films their scenes on one set. The Asylum may not be as bad as it seems, but this is a film about kaiju.
